General Questions


1. What can I expect when I visit for the first time?
When you visit, you'll be welcomed by friendly faces who are excited to meet you. Expect a casual and relaxed environment, rocking worship music, and a message that is both practical and rooted in the Bible. Feel free to dress comfortably—shorts, t-shirts, or whatever you feel best in.

2. What time are your services?
Our services are on Sundays at 10:00 am. We also have midweek gatherings, Bible studies, and
events.

3. Do you offer transportation to and from campus?
You can catch the 9:38 Durango Transit from the FLC bus stop and it will take you to the Florida & Aspen bus stop right in front of our building, just in time for service!
Put our address into maps and click the “public transit” option for more details. We also have
several people who come from the college so we can probably find someone for you to carpool with.

4. Is there a group for college students?
We have a vibrant young adult community in our congregation. While we do not run a specific
Ministry for college students, we are proud to partner and have relationships with several of the college ministries on campus such as FCA, Reach, Master Plan, and Rooted.


5. Do you have activities outside of Sunday services?
Yes, we do! We host a variety of events, including social gatherings, service projects, worship
nights, and retreats. There’s always something happening, so check out our calendar to stay
updated.


6. Can I get involved in serving?
Definitely! We encourage everyone to use their gifts and passions to serve others. Whether it's
joining the worship team, helping with kids, participating in outreach, serving coffee, or anything in between, there’s a place for you to make a difference.


7. What kind of support do you offer to students?

We know college can be a challenging time, so we offer prayer support, and pastoral counseling. If you need someone to talk to or pray with, our team is here for you.


8. How can I stay connected during the week?
You can stay connected by joining one of our small groups, following us on social media, or
downloading our app.


9. Do you have online services?
Yes, we stream our Sunday services live online, and you can also catch up on past sermons on
our website, YouTube Channel, or our app. This is a great option if you can’t make it in person.


10. Are there opportunities for spiritual growth?
Definitely. We offer Bible studies, discipleship groups, and workshops that dive deeper into the
Word of God and help you apply it to your life. Our goal is to help you grow in your relationship with Christ.


11. Can I bring my friends?
Of course! Everyone is welcome, and we love seeing new faces. Feel free to invite your
roommates, classmates, or anyone else who might be interested. We do not require anyone to have any specific beliefs or requirements to attend our church.


12. How do I get involved with the worship team?
If you’re musically inclined and interested in joining the worship team, we’d love to hear from
you! We hold auditions periodically and are always looking for passionate individuals to help
lead worship. Reach out to our staff and they can connect you.


13. What should I do if I’m not sure what I believe?
That’s okay! Our church is a place where you can explore your faith, ask questions, and learn at your own pace. We’re here to walk alongside you as you explore who Jesus is.


14. How can I meet new people?
Our small groups, events, and serving opportunities are the best ways to meet new people and build friendships. We also recommend that you get involved in campus, join clubs, go to a
campus ministry.


15. What kind of outreach does the church do?
We’re passionate about serving our community and the world. College students are encouraged to get involved and make an impact. Whether its in church/local outreach projects, mission trips, and social justice initiatives

Currently some of our initiatives and partnerships include:

  • Our Benevolence Fund: to provide financial assistance to local community member. 90%
    go to non church members.
  • Partnering with the Neighbors in Need Alliance (NINA): a local group of churches
    dedicated to serving our homeless population
  • Manna soup kitchen
  • Our Community Connections Initiative: Dedicated to partnering with people and
    organizations that are already doing good work in the community.

 

16. Do you offer any resources for students struggling with mental health?
We take mental health seriously and work to be a supportive community. If you are struggling
mentally we highly encourage you to talk to someone and would love to be that person. Also,
FLC students get 4 free appointments a semester at the FLC Counseling Center which is another phenomenal resource.


17. How do I sign up for events or groups?
You can sign up for events, small groups, and other activities through our website, or by visiting the Connect Corner on Sunday. Our team is always happy to help you find the right fit.


18. What if I’m interested in missions or international work?
We have several opportunities for short-term missions, both locally and internationally. Whether you’re interested in a week-long trip or a summer internship, we can help you get involved.


19. Can I find mentorship opportunities?
At the moment, we don't have a formal mentorship program in place, but we encourage involvement in our vibrant life groups and ministries. These provide excellent opportunities to connect with experienced individuals who can offer guidance and support in various aspects of life and faith. We're also exploring options to enhance mentorship opportunities in the future to better serve our community.


20. How can I stay informed about what’s happening?
Stay informed by subscribing to our newsletter, following us on social media, and checking our
website regularly. We post updates, event information, and other news to keep you in the loop.
