Reconciliation means: To restore friendly relations between/to put an end to hostility/ cause to co-exist in harmony

Katallasso (mutual change) and katallage (restoration of divine favor)

Romans 12:18 NIV  If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

Luke 19: 1-10 TPT 1–3 In the city of Jericho there lived a very wealthy man named Zacchaeus, who was the supervisor over all the tax collectors. As Jesus made his way through the city, Zacchaeus was eager to see Jesus. He kept trying to get a look at him, but the crowd around Jesus was massive. Zacchaeus was a very short man and couldn’t see over the heads of the people. 4 So he ran on ahead of everyone and climbed up a blossoming fig tree so he could get a glimpse of Jesus as he passed by.5 When Jesus got to that place, he looked up into the tree and said, “Zacchaeus, hurry on down, for I am appointed to stay at your house today!” 6 So he scurried down the tree and came face-to-face with Jesus.7 As Jesus left to go with Zacchaeus, many in the crowd complained, “Look at this! Of all the people to have dinner with, he’s going to eat in the house of a crook.”8 Zacchaeus joyously welcomed Jesus and was amazed over his gracious visit to his home. Zacchaeus stood in front of the Lord and said, “Half of all that I own I will give to the poor. And Lord, if I have cheated anyone, I promise to pay back four times as much as I stole.” 9–10 Jesus said to him, “This shows that today life has come to you and your household, for you are a true son of Abraham. The Son of Man has come to seek out and to give life to those who are lost.”

It was the unconditional God-love in Christ that caused Him to do the things He did for us by becoming the initiator of our reconciliation.

2 Corinthians 5: 16-21 TPT 16 So then, from now on, we have a new perspective that refuses to evaluate people merely by their outward appearances. For that’s how we once viewed the Anointed One, but no longer do we see him with limited human insight. 17 Now, if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new creation. All that is related to the old order has vanished. Behold, everything is fresh and new.18 And God has made all things new, and reconciled us to himself, and given us the ministry of reconciling others to God. 19 In other words, it was through the Anointed One that God was shepherding the world, not even keeping records of their transgressions, and he has entrusted to us the ministry of opening the door of reconciliation to God. 20 We are ambassadors of the Anointed One who carry the message of Christ to the world, as though God were tenderly pleading with them directly through our lips. So we tenderly plead with you on Christ’s behalf, “Turn back to God and be reconciled to him.” 21 For God made the only one who did not know sin to become sin for us, so that we who did not know righteousness might become the righteousness of God through our union with him.

The shortest distance between 2 people is a story.

Revelation 12:11 NIV They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony

God doesn’t want behavior modification, He wants heart transformation.

Interested parties must see that there is something more at stake than holding a position (being right) and the relationship being reestablished becomes the greater goal.

The absence of reconciliation robs the church of the power of unity.
