WHAT IS THE ONE GIFT JESUS WANTS FROM YOU THAT ONLY YOU CAN GIVE? YOUR WORSHIP.
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.” Matthew 2:1-2
proskuneo (pros-koo-neh’-o); to bow down or kneel, to fall flat, to do reverence, to adore, to worship.
THREE REASONS TO WORSHIP JESUS THIS CHRISTMAS
1. WORSHIP JESUS FOR WHO HE IS.
(Mary) will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” 22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”—which means, “God with us.” Matthew 1:21-23
2. WORSHIP JESUS FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE.
(He) has saved us and called us to a holy life — not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, 10 but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life… 2 Timothy 1:9-10
3. WORSHIP JESUS FOR WHAT HE WILL DO.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21
IN VIEW OF WHO CHRIST IS, WHAT HE HAS DONE, AND WHAT HE WILL DO, I BRING HIM A GIFT AND I AM THE GIFT.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship. Romans 12:1
