Roots Upcoming Events (May-August):

**May 21 - Cookout FUNDRAISER EVENT

On may 21st we will be hosting a Fundraiser Event after Church. Come hangout, play some yard games, enjoy a hotdog or burger and connect with our students and leaders! All proceeds will go directly to student's camp funds. We are looking forward to a great time of fellowship and community building.  

May 26 - Outdoor Movie Night

Come join us on Friday, May 26th to celebrate the end of the school year with an outdoor movie! This is a free event and everyone is welcomed!

June 16 - PROM at the Senior Center

Our high school students will be hosting a Prom at the senior center for the folks there! If you would like to help us with this event, our greatest area of need will be in setup, teardown/cleanup or providing snacks/drinks.

June 18 - 5th grade initiation

On Sunday, June 18th, 5th grade students will be moving up to Merge Bible Study and Roots Youth Group! At 5:30PM all 5th grade (or age equivalent) students and their parents are invited to a "mock" Youth Group night, where we will run a normal youth group night, specifically for students who are moving up. We will do everything we normally do at youth group, including fellowship and Roots Cafe, a fun game, worship time, teaching and small group time! This will be a great time to get acquainted with the Underground (youth room) and have a better understanding of what to expect week to week. Some of our leaders will also be present, so students and parents alike will be able to get to know the awesome group of people serving in this ministry. Following June 18th, all 5th grade students will be invited to ALL Roots events.

June 23 - Worship Night

All students and their families are invited to our worship night on Friday, June 23rd, starting at 6PM. This will be a great time of fellowship and communal worship to our Amazing God! We will be encouraging our students to invite their friends to this event, so families do the samel The worship night will be held in the underground or in the courtyard (weather depending).

June 25 - Messy Games

After Church on Sunday June 25th, we will be having a messy games event! All high school and middle school students are invited! Parents are welcome to join, If you dare! The event will begin at 11:30AM and will wrap up at 2:30PM. Make sure to bring a change of clothes and wear some shorts and a tee you don't mind getting MESSY!!

July 10 - Mario Kart Competition

On Monday, July 10th we will be hosting a Mario Kart Competition for all students! Students will be competing Tournament-style to see who is the Roots champion! The event will begin at 4:30PM and will wrap up around 7:30PM.

***July 19-22 - ROOTS CAMP!!!!!!

We are excited to be hosting our own camp this year! On Wednesday, July 19th at 6:30PM students are allowed to arrive at Cross Bar X for our camp event! Camp will consist of fun games, activities, worship, teachings, bonding with leaders and friends, and much much more! Camp will cost $250 per student, but fundraising events will be held prior to camp, to make costs more affordable. (More information on those above). Scholarships may also be available for specific needs. The cost covers meals, snacks, lodging, zip-line and other actives, as well as camp materials and T-shirts! We ask that parents pickup their students on Saturday at 10:30AM. We are really looking forward to diving into the topic of Covenant and our role in the (Missio Dei) Mission of God

August 2-6 (dates tentative) - High School Backpacking Trip!

Tentatively planned for the beginning of August we will be taking some of our high school students on a backpacking trip! Location is still TBD. All high school students 9-12th grade are eligible. Incoming Freshmen (9th) may be waitlisted, depending on group size and leader availably.    

Other Events: The events listed above are considered MAJOR events for the summer. Other events (hiking trips, Chosen marathons, board game days, kickball games, scavenger hunts, etc.) will also be taking place this summer, As those events are planned and prepared, students and parents will be notified Dates and information will be posted to the parents as soon as possible.  

Normal Youth Group nights will still occur throughout the summer as well.
