TRUTH determines the course of our lives.

1. We Must Know/Recognize Truth

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. JOHN 14:6

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. HEBREWS 13:8

2. We must DAILY align ourselves with Truth

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” JOHN 8:32

3.  We must Trust Truth… even when things get cloudy

“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” GENESIS 12:2-3

By an act of faith, Abraham said yes to God’s call to travel to an unknown place that would become his home. When he left he had no idea where he was going. By an act of faith he lived in the country promised him, lived as a stranger camping in tents. Isaac and Jacob did the same, living under the same promise. Abraham did it by keeping his eye on an unseen city with real, eternal foundations—the City designed and built by God. HEBREWS 11:8-10 MSG

Each one of these people of faith died not yet having in hand what was promised, but still believing. How did they do it? They saw it way off in the distance, waved their greeting, and accepted the fact that they were transients in this world. People who live this way make it plain that they are looking for their true home. If they were homesick for the old country, they could have gone back any time they wanted. But they were after a far better country than that—heaven country. You can see why God is so proud of them, and has a City waiting for them. HEBREWS 11:13-16 MSG

TRUTH determines the course of our lives.

It is a reminder that this earth is not our home.

It is unchanging no matter where we might be.

And it holds despite all circumstances.

Talk It Over
  • When do you know something is the truth? How do you recognize it?
  • Think about the “bad magnets” that are taking you away from the truth? How do you get back on course?
  • What truth from The Bible do you need to be believing right now?
  • What is something that you might be believing about your current location or circumstance that is not Truth about God’s Kingdom or yourself?
  • How do you discern between  Truth and truth? How does that influence your course?
