“If you have no joy, there’s a leak in your Christianity somewhere.” Billy Sunday (evangelist)

The Greek word for joy is chara.

The same root word is used for grace (charis).

Joy becomes our response to grace.

A good translation of grace is special. So “joy is the response to being the really special one”

3 Practical Steps to Returning to joy:

  1. GRATITUDE: Journaling what you are grateful for and listening to God’s response.
  2. APPRECIATION: Gift-wrapped gratitude. Speaking this to others.
  3. REFLECTING ON PREVIOUS JOY: pondering on past joyful experiences – what do you remember from that particular moment?
