Prayer for the community by Nate Yant
If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
In this scripture God is telling Solomon that when hardship comes, those who humble themselves and trust in the name of God, then they shall receive blessing, But to those who loose their way, only hardship and troubled times will prosper. Or in simpler terms, God is promising good to those who keep his commandments. They will receive his blessings. However, if you stray and forsake his word and live not according to his commandments, then you will surely not receive his blessings and instead wonder why hardship has fallen.
Understanding these words given by God, we can apply this scripture by looking at our own lives. And as a community it is not only important, but it is beneficial. When 2 or more gather the Spirit is as well. So I urge you to bring the word given to you and share it with your neighbor. As a community of Christ, we are called to be an example of what God has called us to, to be like Christ and walk as He did. And as you carry out his commandments, show his love, and fully serve God, you will see His blessings come your way.
Dear Father God, as we continue in our fast, let us remember to continuously remember to show You in all our actions, let us see the areas in our lives that we need to show You more. And help us to keep your commandments and continue to live as Jesus lived, and that through it all remind us that it is not our actions that determine how You love us, but rather that Your love is infinite and unconditional.
