Mark’s heart is to have people understand their freedom in Christ (Physically, Financially, & Spiritually) and that true worship to God does not just come on Sunday morning, or that it only comes from a song. True worship comes from the heart and can be expressed in any number of ways. Here at TRC, we want to bring Kingdom community to wherever we are so that others can know God.
Pastor Mark and his wife, Jill, have three children. They love to camp and enjoy the great outdoors. One of Mark’s favorite pastimes is going fishing in a river or stream. Pastor Mark has been serving here at the church since 1996, and continues to grow in his love for TRC and the Durango community daily.
Jill has been serving alongside her husband, Mark, in various ministries at the River Church since 1998. Together they have done youth and children’s ministry with Jill always serving in women’s ministry in one way or another. In 2012 she took over the role of director of Women’s Ministry and loves to see women make connections and experience His true freedom.
She came to Durango in 1994 for college (has a degree in Biology) and never left. This is where she dedicated her life to Christ, met Mark and discovered her God-given dreams and passions. When she is not working with the women of the River church she is busy taking care of, and homeschooling, their 3 children, reading, writing and occasionally binging on a series on Netflix.
Nick has invested in the River Church family since 2003 through youth, children’s, and men’s ministries. Together with those he serves, he pursues and encourages real and undeniable relationship with God through Christ, and strives to create tangible, positive impact on the local community. He has been involved in a variety of short-term missions and has volunteered his time both inside and outside of the church. In addition to having a BA in Business Administration, Nick owned and operated a business within the construction industry for about 15 years, serving others on social, environmental, and community levels. His contribution continues here at the River Church.
Nick is essentially a native of the Durango area with His wife Kristen and their two children. His appreciation of people and the outdoors makes for a strong possibility that he can be found on a trail, stream, or coffee shop when absent of the office.
